To the Disharoon Family,
I was sorry to learn of the loss of your loved one. It’s obvious that Bob was loved by all and he will be deeply missed. He was an amazing man who made a significant difference in this world, and made all of us in uniform proud to wear the cloth of our nation. My deepest sympathy to your family in this trying time.
May your memories of him be a Blessing to you and your family. I will request to have a Mass said in his memory tomorrow at the Camp Slayer Catholic Chapel.

Larry and Family,
We were so sad to hear about the loss of your brother. Reading the guest book and looking at the pictures has helped us to get to know him just a little. It's a tremendous tribute to him. Obviously he was an amazing man. All of you are in our heartfelt thoughts and prayers.
Much love,
Maryann & Marty

What an awful shock - I was only informed of this an hour ago by Jannette and knew nothing of Bobs illness as I´m abroad. Most of my memories of Bob are from the 90s and are full of fun, happiness and big days out in Lancashire. My thoughts are with Louise and her family at this time. All my love x

Bob was a very special person and a wonderful son. We are tremendously proud of him - of the way he chose to live his life and of his many achievements. It is very heart-warming and comforting to know that he is held in such high regard by his colleagues and friends.
Over the past few months, whenever we came for a visit and were getting ready to leave, he always gave us that smile and said "Thanks for coming. I love you." So now, from Bob and his family, I say to all of you; "Thanks for coming and sharing your memories of him. We love you"

I cannot tell you how much I love and appreciate all of you who have shared your thoughts of and stories about my “little” brother Bob. You have given me many insights into the incredible man he was.A friend of mine recently asked me how he had become such an amazing young man.I don't know the answer to that question, but I shared this story with her.
One day Dad, Bob, my husband, and I were scuba diving off the coast of Florida. Mom was snorkeling above us as she often did. When we surfaced after the dive, we were shocked and dismayed to see the boat drifting far in the distance. It and we were caught in a current being pulled out to sea. Without a word, Bob, who could not have been more than 15 years old at the time, took off swimming after the boat in full scuba gear. He managed to catch the boat, pull himself and his gear aboard, and then proceeded to rescue the rest of us. After our ordeal we were all excited and loudly discussing our near disaster. All of us except Bob. I looked at him and asked, “Bob, don’t you ever get excited?” He just looked at me and said, “Di, when I get excited, you’ll know it’s the big one.”
Often after that when there were crises in life or in the world, I would ask him, “Bob, is this the big one?” He’d just look at me, raise one eyebrow and give that slow smile.“Not yet,” he’d always say. I’d always feel better. Bob was and always will be my hero (no cape). It’s nice to know I’m not alone.

Bob, we went through the Q-Course together and then onto 1-10th, always catching each other in passing (usually the mess hall) since we were in different companies. I havent seen you in over ten years now; but seeing the pictures and reading what others wrote brings back the absolutely clear and vivid memory of your good naturedness and the almost constant smile on your face. Thanks for enrichening the lives of those around you.... God Speed to You and My Prayers to Your Family.
